I chose to make my logo my name because last unit I created a header for my channel but along with the header comes your name. Most youtubers have cool or memorable fonts for their name so i knew i had to spice up my font from last unit. I realized that my draft looks nothing like my sketch because I found a tutorial on how to add pictures in the text after i drew out my sketch.

I thought it would be really cute to add pictures that relate to me inside of my name. For the draft I found a tutorial on youtube on how to place an image inside the text you write. Since this is the rough draft I just chose the first thing that popped up in my head which was a picture of a field of sunflowers because that’s my favorite flower. Right now it looks pretty cool but it is hard to tell what I am trying to spell out so maybe I will try to make the text bigger and make my first and last name on two different lines instead of one. Even though I think it looks cute right now but I know it is pretty basic so that’s why I want to step it up a notch and try to make a collage of pictures of myself to insert inside of my name. It would be large and pretty much cover the whole header so it is pretty much a whole new logo for my youtube page. Maybe I will also try to make a shadow behind the text. The background color doesn’t really matter since my logo will eventually be taken off of this background and inserted on to my previous header.

I always have some much I want to do in my head but I have a hard time bringing it to life so hopefully I can actually create what I have in mind.

As you can see, I am not the best artist but hopefully what I actually envision comes out in the final project. I want to create my name logo for my future youtube channel.

My main topic for the course is the process of creating a youtube channel. There are many steps involved in creating a channel but one of the most important things about your channel is your page. It will be what your subscribers or viewers will see when they click on your profile picture. The creativity of the header behind the profile picture can help draw more attention and curiosity to your page. My graphic design project will be the creation of my thumbnail/header for my youtube page.

My photo collection turned into a thumbnail/header for the youtube i will be creating throughout this course. On youtube, it is known for youtubers to have a header filled with a collage of cutouts of themselves. In my rough draft, there were three photos of me in front of a light purple background. Once i finished the draft, I realized how much i didn’t like how the pictures or the words were placed together. I knew i wanted to delete one picture to make space for the words, that are the topic for ht my blog, to sit closer together so it didn’t look thrown on there. I also changed my background to a darker purple background.

The main commnet i noticed from my peers was to change my fonts and to make my name bigger. I didn’t want my name and the other words to be in two different fonts like someone suggested so I just changed it to a more bold font to make everything look interesting. My name is now bigger and at the center top of the header.

All of the pictures except for the background are my selfies that I took myself so I have rights to them. The new purple background picture came from pexels.com. It is a website that holds thousands of downloadable pictures for anyone.

These photos will be used to create a YouTube thumbnail/ header for a channel.
